Horses & Healing

Sometimes it is us that needs the behavior change.

A vet had just bought the farm next to where I was boarding my mare Ciara a couple years back. This vet had a beautiful white Arab mare and was looking to rehome her. Since my house was almost done and I would be moving Ciara there I was in the market for a companion for her.

I went over to see this mare one bright sunny day. I reacted energetically to the vet as we met. It was like that non coherent static electricity. This vet was starting a warmblood breeding program. She had a few warmblood mares and the one Arab. She had the Arab bred to a warmblood due to foal in 3 months. Ok I really want to judge here but I will bite my tongue.

The vet was a fast talker and mover, high energy. Wrong mix for sensitive Arabs (I know Ciara is a National Show Horse, half Arab and half Saddlebred). She proceeded to tell my how her and the mare just don’t see eye to eye and the mare had broken her arm just before they made the move to Colorado.

I watched the mare in her stall, standing as far back as she could keeping one eye and ear on the vet.

She told me she wanted to just rehome her since she obviously needed much rehabbing. But she also told me that the foal she carried was more important and that if there was any problems during delivery she would save the foal. She also said she was going to take the foal off the mare and put her on a nurse mare. “This Arab is just too crazy, and I don’t want her foal to pick up on it.” I was thinking that the poor dude in the womb had already picked up on it. Ok, I was judging, could not help it… I was still dealing with the fact she would not save the mare if there were complications.

She brought the mare out of her stall and it was like a cat on a hot tin roof! She was ready to spring at any moment. Brought me back to my early days with Ciara. This horse was reacting to someone in a state of noncoherence and noncongruence. What came out of her mouth did not match her heart vibration. She was in extreme protection-survival mode.

I told her I had a mare that had been just like her and I knew I could help her and yes, I would love to take her. Something deep inside said it would never happen so when I left that farm. I kept feelers out for another horse.

I wanted to help that mare and decided to give Emotion Code a try from a distance. I had to do this energetically. And I wish I had kept my notes. But I do remember there were a lot of depressed, frustration, helplessness, and insecurity emotions. For about 2 weeks I worked on “Sasha”. I even did long distance Reiki. And during those connections I knew she would not be coming home with me.

A month had gone by and I heard nothing from that vet, so I asked the women who owned the place I where I was boarding Ciara if she had talked to her.

She told me that the vet had said her mare had a sudden and total behavior change and that she would be keeping her.

So, there it was, confirmation. Emotion Code did help her and yes, she would stay where she was. Though today, I do not see her out in the pasture only her now 2-year-old offspring. Did she sell her since she became more manageable? I too wonder if the vet, through me, realized it was her that was triggering her mare and made an attitude adjustment. I hoped so.

     A short story. Donnie Darko

I was on the Emotion Code Facebook page for a short while and answered a call out for help for a horse. I don’t remember what his problem was, but the owner told me the horses name was Donnie Darko.  I do remember that I got strongly kept getting that the horse did not like his name at all and wanted the name Falcon. The horse had said he liked the name Falcon better. I told her what the horse had said. If I remember his issue had something to do with his name.

She decided that I didn’t know what I was doing and that she would definitely NOT change his name to Falcon! She off handedly said there were two names they were thinking about when they purchased him, Donnie Darko or Malcom.

Ok, so I was a little off on the name he really wanted of the two….

Are you taking your horse for granted?

How can our equine friends help us to heal, to connect to our true selves if they are too busy protecting themselves from us? How can they, themselves heal?

I took in a retired, blue roan roping horse named Blue. Yes, how original. Even though the old cowboys say its bad luck to rename a horse I just had to. So, I renamed him Indigo and Indy for short. Indigo has much more meaning than a dark blue hue…look up Indigo Adults.

The person that put him out to pasture had another horse and had no time for this retired veteran. He had developed a mystery lameness. I was told he acted like navicular, but the x-rays were nonconclusive. So, no riding. Which was fine I was looking for a companion horse for my mare Ciara.

When we got him home, I got out my toolbox of tricks which consisted of Reiki, Masterson Method, Straightness Training, and tuning forks. He needed a complete overhaul.

I am not sure he ever had any energy work done before but he was very skeptical in the beginning. It took a week of work to finally get him to realize it was okay to relax while in my company, it was okay to release stored and blocked energy.

Today I want to focus on another trick I use and was reminded once again to use it more often. Like right off the bat! That trick is Emotion Code. Emotion Code releases trapped emotions we collect throughout our lives, even when we were still in the womb. We can also inherit these trapped emotions. Dr. Nelson Bradley is the founder of Emotion Code.  For some reason I think it works better on animals. Horses we like to say, have one foot in this world and one foot on the other side. They know they are not separate from their creator. These are very magical creatures when in the right hands. Unfortunately, today, many have been so abused and exploited they have forgotten their magic.

We just had a nasty cold spell after having had a very mild winter and I was not prepared for the subzero temps and snow. Indy’s mystery lameness resurfaced. It was on and off during the winter. But something nagged at me. Instinctually I felt here was much more going on underneath. Something emotional. Indy was a big, sweet lug and extremely sensitive. It was time to use Emotion Code to see what I could find out.

We use muscle testing with a chart of emotions laid out in two columns and 6 rows with 5 emotions in each column for each row so that is 60 different emotions. We use muscle testing with the horse to determine which emotion is trapped, when it happened, was it inherited, and any other information needed.

I can do this long distance so did not need to be standing next to Indy. The first day I released the emotions crying which is connected to the lung or Colon, taken-for-granted which is connected to liver or gall bladder and grief which is connected lung or colon. Now, I had been working on his digestive tract due to a change in his manure. I always check manure for changes. After Reiki and a few essential oils, it was looking much better. But noted the emotions that were connected to his digestion.  Oh, and weirdly I had to release the emotion lust connected to sexual organs and glands. What I gathered from doing the EC work was that his grief and crying were part of his past of being sold and an accident he had. The accident caused him to be sold and it seemed he was grieving over the loss. That alone would cause trauma don’t you think? Let me also say, trauma doe not mean a huge event, it can be an accumulation of many smaller events; like being shuffled from one owner to the next.

The next day I checked him again.  We had to release the emotion heartache, which is connected to heart or small intestine, and again taken-for-granted. He was still dealing with the losses of his past.  I began to ask him more questions and he began to talk. He was done being exploited and treated like he was a motorcycle. It was like his feelings did not matter and no one listened to him. The not listening part was the hardest, the most frustrating. He had no voice no choice. He gave all. They had taken him for granted. When he had his accident, they just threw him away and he ended up in a few more different homes. He had left many friends. He was not going to be taken for granted anymore and developed his mystery lameness to ensure they stayed off his back so he wouldn’t get hurt again.

I have seen this before with Lucky. Part of his story is on my website and in my book Dragonhorse.

Many of us savvy listeners also know that colic is another “out” for taken-for-granted horses. I have seen it many a time.

I told tell him I would not use and abuse him.  He is not ridden now. The big, sensitive lug was picking up on that I was trying to figure out where to put an arena so we could all do more fun things. I think he was threatened by that.  I told him he needed to get better so we could continue our in-hand hikes with Ciara (All three of us go and it’s a whole lot of fun). We live where you can walk for miles.  I confirmed to him he was retired and would never go back to his old “motorcycle” career and had a home with me forever.

The next day I could feel is energy it was lighter, he is feeling much better, more confident. He is so grateful that I heard his words and worries.

Of course, this was not just for him. It was for me also. We too learn so much about ourselves when working from within. We begin to regain instinct for one. I will not go into what this has done for me personally. That is another story. Let’s just say I would definitely not be on this planet today without my land dolphins.

I will say too, my horses put me on the path of looking within for answers. They taught me how to trust my inner judgement and knowing, my inner magic if-you-will. They put me in alignment for a healing path by working through and with them. I always knew when I was off alignment, things began to go wrong, in behaviors and health; for both of us. They taught me how to use my heart, where our true intuition lies.

Horses are our mirrors. They truly reflect what is truly going on inside. They are incredibly good at seeing the pictures in our mind, (a very handy communication tool I might add) and they are excellent at reading our electromagnetic field that is emitted from our very own hearts. Therefore, they know our TRUE inner feelings, our emotional state even before we get out of our house or car or before we touch them. They are tuned in to us. They have our personal radio station! They know when we are bluffing, they know when we are coherent and congruent. They must, they are prey and we are predators. Their lives depend on their inner senses!

I want to stress; our electromagnetic field, the energy we emit from our hearts, the pictures and words fluttering around in our large, chatty, frontal lobe is the foundation of our relationship with our equine partner. Learn high heart coherence and a quiet mind. They read you better than you read yourself.

If you  already haven’t, please go to the HeartMath section to learn more about what heart coherence is.

Advanced HeartMath......Stored unresolved energy shuts you off from your heart connection, stifling the natural flow of spirit through your mental emotional and physical bodies. Diminished flow shows up as negativity, depression, illness, disease, boredom, and a body that is easily manipulated by outside forces. You are working from a lower vibration where all of the above attaches to you.

We just had another school shooting in Colorado, not long after the anniversary of Columbine and it got me thinking...

Healing Humanity, How Do We Begin Pt. 1

It begins in the 3rd trimester, in the mother’s wombThat’s when the programming begins. The fetus is learning from what mother is going through and taking in mothers programming. From the 3rd trimester to 7 years of age we are nothing but recorders. The brain at that time is empty, like a computer with no programs installed. At this stage we absorb everything around us be it bad or good and this sets the stage for the rest of our lives.  There are no filters during this stage! We pass this down generation to generation unless we can see our programming and end it.

After age 7 we must learn by repetition.  Without knowledge of overriding the bad programming (most if not all of us had some sort of this) we will do the things our parents did and those around us who were very impactful. The recordings we take in until age 7 is stored in our subconscious mind. Children until 7 are utilizing the delta and theta brain waves, they are like in a state of hypnosis.

Everything we do after age 7 like read a book, go to school, learn to dance, ride a bike, drive a car is all part of our conscious mind.  Our conscious mind is our creative mind, it loves to learn. When learning how to do certain dance steps or drive a car we are doing this repeatedly until it becomes part of that recording in our subconscious mind. It takes that much work for it to integrate into the subconscious automatic part of us. That is why you can drive a car and be deep in thought. It has become automatic, it’s the subconscious mind at work.

The subconscious mind runs things 95% of the time.  As long as we are thinking, we are on automatic pilot, the subconscious is in charge. Our early life programming is constantly running in the background, it is what we call living in the Matrix.

Humanity is evolving and it’s all about energy

We are moving into the new world and its about energy and what you are feeding or feeling from that energy field; that electromagnetic field.

We are an energetic being having a physical experience, heard that right? Most of us live within the constraints of our physical bodies, not knowing we are connected with everything, even the kitchen table!

If you cannot feel the difference in energy around you then you cannot discern what is not for your best interest. You do not know what is draining your vital energy, what if feeding off of your vital energy. Emotions are the key to all of this. We must learn to feel our emotions and how that affects us.

We can learn to program out how we react to challenges and become more resilient and conserve our energy. We can learn to self-regulate our emotions keeping us in heart coherence. I’ve talked about heart coherence in my previous article. Once we learn to regulate our emotions, we can then join the masses who are taking responsibility for what they are putting out into the electromagnetic field, changing our world around us to that place we all dream about. Yes, it is within our power and the power center is our heart. This is all part of what HeartMath teaches. If you want to join this movement contact me.
